Born in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Jaksa Pavicevic starts his dj career back in 1997 influenced by the techno scene of late ninetees. After getting his first pair of turntables, he became vinyl mad, buying them on a regular basis, enjoying the process of finding his own style. It was funky techno that captured him back in 2000. Soon after he started to explore other electronic music genres to combine it with funky tech in order to develop his unique style. That was obviously a benefit to his dj sets, which became more exciting and less predictable. His sound today borders between progressive house and techno with plenty of groove in it sure to blow any dancefloor worldwide. 2004. sees Jaksa producing his first songs. Music he made then could best be described as melodic and groovy "proggy tech" with some old school acid influences. In search of originality his sound moved forward and went through many changes, never occupied by the genre, only by the feeling while making the tune. Influenced by pretty much all music he listens from Sigur Ros to Detroit Techno, Miles Davis to John Frusciante he works on constant upgrading of his music. He starts his own "A Must Have Rec." imprint back in 2005 and thats where the majority of his past & future works are to be found. Beside running "A Must Have" Jaksa releases his jams under Jay Epoch's Proton Particles, Silk Sofa and Panda Recordings. Upgrading and developing of his sound is still the main goal for young Croatian as more interesting projects and releases approaches.
